the essence of NYC

This is just a little video I made while I was in NYC.
I thought it would be fun
to create a montage of the city sights and my travels.

A Trip to the Big City

It all started with one simple thought. It was a spur of the moment idea really.
My sister and her husband live in New York City,
but they are moving to London soon!
So I thought, hey I really want to go see them in the Big City one last time.
I had gone to NYC once before a couple of summers
ago, and have always wanted to go back.
So it was the last month of Spring semester at BYU-I and I was just toying with the idea of going.
I looked up plane tickets just for fun and
surprisingly found some very cheap tickets for this summer.
What started out as just wishful thinking, turned out to be a reality. I bought the tickets and
eagerly awaited my trip to the City that never sleeps.

Seeing my sister and brother-in-law was so nice. It was great being with them for a week
and also getting to enjoy a good stay in NYC,
exploring the city on my own, and having a relaxing trip. I had a really great time.
There is just something about traveling and
seeing new things and places, (and in my case being able to see my siblings) that is so
exhilarating.
It was a trip that I made just for me. :)

Here are some pics :

If you ever get the chance to treat yourself with a trip
do it.
Just take some time for yourself, no matter where it is you go, what or who you see.
Give yourself an adventure.

Closing Time

I cannot believe this semester is over.
I can't believe that my freshman year of college is over.
Life is a crazy thing.
If I could look forward in time from last fall to where I am now
I would not believe
where I have ended up.

I have had so much fun. It has been a whole new road of
self discovery and adventure.
Before coming up to BYUI I really felt that it was the place for me.
But it wasn't until I came up
here and spent two
semesters here that I truly realized that this is really
where I am supposed to be in
my life right now.
It feels like home. And I am sad to leave it.
It is very bittersweet.
But all good things must come
to an end.
Besides, I'll be back up here in no time!

My roommate Alexa. I love her!!!!

Adventure Time!!!

The past two weekends have been a blast!
My roommates and friends and I
have been able to do some exploring in the Ice Caves and
also in some tunnels in the
Teton Dam!

The Ice Caves were so much fun! It was really slippery in some areas
which made it very entertaining. Also at the
Dam we pranked
my friend Chris by getting cow bones and dressing
them up with old clothes
so it kinda looked like human remains. Haha.
The tunnel was actually kinda creepy
because it was so dark
and VERY echo-y.
Both of them were so much fun though and I
can't wait to do some
more exploring!

the tiny tiny hole we had to climb through to get to the tunnel
Don't go to either of these without head lamps people! :)

New Things

So I am sitting in my new apartment.
It's the start of a new semester
and I've got new roommates (except for Alexa!!
I'm glad we are still together).
I don't really know what to expect from Spring semester though.
It will be pretty different from Winter, but
I am so excited to get started!
The weather will be warm. er. haha! And there will
be a lot of outdoor activities which
I am so pumped for.
ALSO!
My friends from Colorado will be here
and I will be able to hang out
with them and see
them! I've missed them:)
I have made some goals for this semester, but
my main goal is to get a 4.0.
I would love it if I could do that!!
I am taking:
  • Science Foundations
  • Book of Mormon pt 2
  • Personal Health and Fitness
  • Intro to Sociology
  • Beauty and Creativity
  • Communication 101
I feel so blessed to be able to attend such a
great university. The Lord has
given me so much
and I am so thankful. Life is so great
even though I may have some
bad days, who doesn't, right? So I am going to rise above it
and remember that whatever comes,
I can get through.
Enjoy life and make the most of it.
One of my favorite quotes:
Come what may and love it!

Stressed Spelled Backwards.......

Wow.
This semester has gone by oh so fast. I can't believe that it is
already the dreaded finals week.
I am trying so very
hard to not be overly stressed out about
things, because it is
just silly to worry so much. But it's SO hard.
There are finals to study for
and next semester to worry about. My
roommates and friends are all
going home
and it will be so weird not having them here. Even though it's only
been 3 1/2 months
it feels like so much longer, yet it goes by so quickly.
GAH! I can't believe how
fast life goes by.

It is so important to just enjoy the things
that are happening now in life.
I'm a natural worrier too (which I hate) so I've been doubling my efforts
to not let things get to me. Haha!
Anyway, I've had such a great first semester!
And next semester is going
to be just as great!
I really am excited, I just hate how things have to end.
But life is sweet!
And stressed spelled backwards is desserts!
If there is something you
should know about me................
I love desserts! :) BAHA!

And for anyone else out there who has finals... good luck to you!
Treat yourself to some dessert when you finish :)
