Gratitude: the best attitude

Hope everyone had a
family filled,
turkey loving,
memory making,
cozy cold
Thanksgiving!
I really enjoyed the time with my family!
This year it was different because all of my siblings and their families
usually come for the week. However,
they will be coming for 2 lovely
weeks at Christmastime
this year!
I cannot wait.
So on Thanksgiving day, my parents and I
settled down at our 6 person dining room table and had a Thanksgiving feast,
with just the 3 of us. It was the first time our family
has ever celebrated the holiday
without our whole family.
We still enjoyed the food and the company though!

You bet, all made from scratch.

White-grape and Cherry juice!
Home made food and good company weren't the only
things that made my Thanksgiving.
This year marked one whole year since I started my Attitude of Gratitude journal.
Last Thanksgiving my friend Stacey and I decided that we wanted to do these journals for a whole year. From one Thanksgiving to the other! Every day we
would write down something we were thankful for
that day and journal about it.
Nothing too elaborate or long, just a quick little thought.

I am seriously so glad that I started that journal and wrote in it every day for a whole year!
It has been so awesome, made me happier, and more
grateful for a Father in Heaven. It really helped me to stop and think about what
happened throughout my day.
Honestly, sometimes it was hard to just choose one thing to be grateful for.

Here are some of my favorite/most remembered entries:

Day 35 - "I'm grateful for friends. It's nice to know that someone is there for you, who loves you for you. I feel so blessed to have so many great friends."

Day 121 - "I'm grateful for the earth. I went hiking at 7 Bridges today and it was so gorgeous. I think it's good to get away from all of the distractions of life once in a while, and nature is a great place to go."

Day 175 - "I'm grateful for education. I graduated today! I'm grateful for all that I've learned and been able to grow from."

Day 294 - "I'm grateful for dress up days. It rained all day today so I put on my rain boots and coat and scarf and splashed in some puddles! The rain is so magical."

Day 350 - "I'm grateful that I decided to do this journal. I was just now looking back on some of the entries, and I realized I'm grateful for so many things. God has truly blessed me."

Anyway, this journal has been so much fun and a real blessing. I hope
that my children and their children will read
my gratitude journal and be inspired to write one of their own. And that
they will know just how much we truly have to be grateful for.

Give thanks this season! :)

Change

Life has been kinda busy lately, but in a good way.
I have been so blessed to
have a job so that not only am I being productive and learning new things,
but I can save lots of moneys for school at the same time!
Working at El Padrino is actually really fun. I like it way more than I
thought I would. Two things I hate about working at El Pads though:
I come home smelling like Mexicano (in a weird, it-sticks-to-my-clothes sort of way)
AND wearing black every.day.
When I do my laundry it's ALL black clothes
and I hate it. There is no variety in my fashion now because it's all the same! Haha!
But seriously, I love wearing cute clothes
and I hardly ever get to do that anymore.
Oh and I also hate wearing my hair up haha. First world problems I guess :)

black shirt black pants black belt

work is wearing me out :)
I'm also nannying on Mondays and Tuesdays
which is so much fun even
if I sometimes feel like I wanna strangle something.
The kids I nanny for are so great (most of the time ;))
It is making me realize just how much I want to have kids of my own some day.
KIDS ARE SO GREAT! Really!
So with both of those jobs I'm really bringing in the dough,
which I desperately need for college.
It's been a real blessing to have these jobs, otherwise I don't know where I'd be
come January.

January!!!!! That's when I pack my bags and head off to the
freezing winterland of Rexburg, Idaho!
It's gonna be a huge change, but I'm excited!
It's awesome to see that a lot of my friends who are already there are having such
a wonderful time. I've waited so long to go to college
it seems so strange that I get to go
at the beginning of next year. CRAZY things are happening.
It's almost surreal.
I keep thinking about my future and what it holds.
There's gonna be a lot of change:
  • moving out
  • living on my own
  • supporting myself
  • meeting new people
  •  possibly going on a mish
  •  getting married
  • starting my own family
  • moving who knows where
It's nice to know that wherever I go I can always enjoy things like this:

fav thing about colorado: its beautiful! good thing idaho is just as pretty.
Change Change Change!
It's gonna be great!

Speaking of "change", President Obama got re-elected. I hate to bring up politics, but seeing that my blog post is titled Change, and it being the day after the
election I kinda have to.
I got to vote for the first time!!! (and Emily I really wanted a sticker too, and I got one!!! haha)
Anyway, I was hoping for some real change to take
place, but that didn't happen.
Whatever lies ahead, bring it on I guess!

I can't believe that is already November. It seems like each year is flying by faster and faster. I remember when I was a kid the years (and even weeks and days) went by so slow.
It seemed like it was taking for.e.ver. to grow up,
but a lot has changed since then. :)

So other than saving moneys for college, and working,
I'm spending as much time with my family and friends as possible and gearing
up for what's next! I can't wait for ALL of my fam bam to be here in
the Springs during Christmas! It's gonna be so great!!!
That will be the last time we'll all be together prolly until next summer :(

gonna miss these two! (halloween outfits)

fam time :) haunted mines

I hope everyone who is reading this is doing great and that
life is good
for each of you. Be grateful for what you have and
live life to the fullest!

one of my friends posted this and i fell in love.
You are missing from me <3
Have a great week!
